What is it about sharks lately? They seem to have taken an interest in photobombing surfers. Just the other month, we featured a video where a surfer was photobomed by a shark in Pedra do Sal beach in Salvador, Brazil.
Now from Macauley's Beach in New South Whales, a shark made a surprise visit during the Coffs Harbour Boardriders Club surf competition which was held this past Sunday. According to Inquisitr, it is believe that the shark was a spinner, a thresher or a mako shark.
Steph Bellamy explained to ABC News that she was taking photos of surfers when she caught the unexpected image.
"I took a shot, but as I stood up there was a splash and I thought, 'what was that?' and hit the button to take another photograph," she told ABC.
"Then I heard the judges say, 'Wow, what was that?' and I expanded the shot out so I could have a look and it was as plain as day there was a major photobomb from a beautiful creature of our planet. It was a shark, and quite a large one."
The competition was halted for about 10 to 15 minutes before resuming. Ms Bellamy stated that it was a black shark with a bite belly and estimated the size at eight feet.
