Video: Spearfishermen Swim with Hammerhead at Anacapa Island

Hammerhead becomes aggressive towards spearfishermen
A group of spearfishermen where fishing off Anacapa Island when they spotted an eight foot hammerhead shark.  Hammerheads are not typical in the colder waters off Anacapa Island which is a small island approximately 11 miles off the coast of Port Hueneme, California, in Ventura County.

One of the spearfisherman, Forrest Galante, decided to take advantage of the rare encounter and he began luring the shark closer to the boat with bait.  At that point, he and his friend jumped into the water with video rolling.

According to Forrest, the shark became somewhat aggressive and continued to move closer to the two swimmers.  After it became apparent the shark was not going to back off, both guys decided to exit the water.
