Pod of Pilot Whales Stranded in Shallow Waters at Everglades National Park

In a developing story, a pod of approximately 40 pilot whales are stranded in shallow waters in a remote area of the Everglades National Park.

According to WBTV news, the whales were first spotted on Tuesday afternoon about 30 miles from the town of Flamingo, Florida.

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) is launching a rescue mission on Wednesday morning and will access the situation at which point they will determine if there is a possibility of saving the mammals.
